Welcome

I'm Holly, owner and founder of Positive Pathways Psychotherapy, PLLC.

I recognize that overcoming trauma is a challenging journey. You don't have to face it alone. Through a mind-body-spirit approach, with respect to your goals and pace, I am here to help you reclaim and rediscover your voice, identity, and strength. They were there all along - sometimes we just need a little help from a caring presence along the way.

Carrying the weight of anxiety and trauma can lead you to feeling stuck, dissociated and in need of being "fixed." Perhaps you have tried traditional talk therapy, but felt that the root of the issues wasn't fully addressed, leaving you seeking a new approach. Through somatic therapy (soma = body in Latin), I strive to create lasting change by exploring the origins of your trauma to help you achieve a different view and experience of life.

Welcome to a space where healing begins.

"On the other side of a storm is the strength that comes from having navigated through it. Raise your sail and begin." - Gregory S. Williams

Mission and Values

To empower survivors of trauma to access their inherent wisdom, strength and resilience through somatic and holistic approaches.

I strive to abide by and uphold the following principles:

  • Curiosity and Respect: I acknowledge that you are the expert on your life. You developed defense mechanisms to navigate safety throughout life's challenges. These mechanisms, which at one point were key to survival, may be interfering with your goals now. However, I respect them as I acknowledge that they were once instrumental in your self-preservation. Approaching these mechanisms with openness and curiosity fosters insight, self-compassion, and a transformative space for lasting growth.
  • Consent and Collaboration: Setting boundaries and taking agency in your therapeutic journey are critical precursors to trust, rapport, and growth. I prioritize consent and choice in every session. Co-regulation means that I am the guide and you are in the driver's seat - we will work together to create a therapeutic approach that best meets and respects your mind, body, and nervous system.
  • Cultural Humility: I acknowledge each individual's unique heritage. I understand that we live in an intersectionality of privilege, power, and oppression that affect our nervous systems and perceptions of ourselves.
  • Competence: I am committed to continuous learning, self-reflection, somatic work, and adherence to the NASW Code of Ethics.
  • Comprehensiveness: I am committed to transcending the limitations of traditional talk therapy, which focuses on thoughts. Through a unique blend of somatic experiencing, EMDR, and other mind-body-spirit approaches, I support clients with nervous system regulation and self-exploration to facilitate empowerment and self-trust.
